Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy for Splosh
Effective Date: [Insert date when published]
Welcome to Splosh ("the App"), a water intake tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use Splosh.
Developer: Zholdasbek Temirgaliyev (individual developer), Republic of Kazakhstan

1. Information We Collect
Splosh is designed with privacy in mind. We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share personal identifiers. The information stored is:
Stored locally on your device:
- Your name (only if you choose to enter it during onboarding)
- Your weight (only if you choose to provide it)
- Your activity level
- Daily water goal
- Water intake records (timestamp and amount)
- Selected pet character and achievements
- App settings (units, reminders, language)
This data is stored locally on your iPhone in standard iOS storage and is not transmitted to our servers.
Synced via iCloud (CloudKit): Water intake records are synced through your private Apple iCloud account so they are available on your other Apple devices (iPhone, Apple Watch). We do not have access to this iCloud data; it is stored in your private iCloud database managed by Apple.
Apple HealthKit: If you grant permission, Splosh writes your water intake records to the Apple Health app on your device. We do not read other Health data. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Splosh. HealthKit data is governed by Apple's privacy controls and remains on your device.
Subscription status (via RevenueCat): When you subscribe, we use RevenueCat (a third-party service) to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and your purchase receipt from Apple, allowing us to verify the subscription. No payment information is collected by us — all payment processing is handled by Apple. See https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.
Analytics (Firebase Analytics): We use Firebase Analytics by Google to understand how Splosh is used (which features are popular, conversion to subscription). The data is aggregated and anonymous — we do not see individual user behavior. Firebase may collect device identifiers as is standard for analytics. See https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your email address.
- We do not collect your location, photos, contacts, microphone, camera, or other personal identifiers beyond what is listed in Section 1 (which stays on your device).
- We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
3. How We Use Information
The information above is used solely to:
- Provide the water tracking functionality you signed up for
- Sync your data across your Apple devices via iCloud
- Manage your subscription
- Improve the App through aggregated analytics
- Send local reminder notifications (only with your permission)
4. Notifications
Splosh sends local notifications (reminders to drink water) only if you grant permission. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device — they do not require server communication. You can disable them at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Splosh, or within the App (Profile → Reminders).
5. Children's Privacy
Splosh is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us at zholdas@gmail.com.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
All data stored locally and in your iCloud account remains under your control. To delete your data, you can:
- Delete the App from your device (removes all local data)
- Delete the iCloud data in Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Splosh
- Revoke HealthKit access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Splosh
Since we do not maintain user accounts on our servers, there is no separate "account deletion" procedure on our side.
7. Your Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, Republic of Kazakhstan, or another jurisdiction with similar privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you (in practice this is essentially none on our servers — your data lives on your device)
- Request correction or deletion (you can do this directly via the App)
- Object to or restrict processing
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
To exercise these rights, contact us at zholdas@gmail.com.
8. Third-Party Services
The following third-party services are integrated into Splosh:
- Apple iCloud / CloudKit (Apple Inc.) — for data sync
- Apple HealthKit (Apple Inc.) — for writing water intake to Apple Health
- RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) — for subscription management
- Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) — for usage analytics
Each provider has its own privacy policy linked above.
9. Security
We rely on Apple's platform security (iOS sandboxing, iCloud encryption, Keychain) to protect your data. Data stored on your device is protected by your device passcode. Data in iCloud is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple.
10. International Users
Splosh is offered globally through the App Store. The Developer is located in the Republic of Kazakhstan. By using the App, you acknowledge that limited information (analytics, subscription state) may be processed in countries where our third-party providers operate (United States, etc.).
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" at the top will be updated when we do. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
